I know a handful of people who follow my blog and most of them are asking me to continue writing. It’s really difficult to blog when: 1) You don’t have your own laptop; 2) You are very busy with work; and 3) You have a huge back log of things to write about and they end up feeling like a burden.

Probably one of the reasons why I don’t blog regularly is mobility. I take a lot of food photos and I post them on Instagram instead of writing lengthy reviews here on my blog. Twitter hears most of my rants. As for my (mis) adventures, I share them on Facebook. I will be writing about my 2014 events but as ‘in retrospect’ posts.

A quick rundown of my 2014…

Chennai Assignment

Chennai, the capital of the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, was my home for three months this year.

Kapaleeshwarar Temple

The experience was really special. Each day had a new challenge in store for me. I wouldn’t say that Chennai is the most beautiful place I have been to (far from it), but it was good.

My round face at Mahabalipuram.

Being a fan of Indian cuisine, I had a blast trying out different Chettinad dishes.

Thali from Dakshin, Sheraton. One of the best meals I have ever had in my life.

Trip to the USA

Family photo after the commencement. I am really proud of my brother.

I stayed in the US for a short time. The highlight was my brother’s graduation from the Master of Laws program of Yale University. We visited a total of six states, three of which were reached by car. We had a really good time with our aunt as well.

Career Change

It was unanticipated. I was invited back to IBM by one of my previous bosses. From being a developer, I switched to (technical) sales. So far, so good. I am enjoying being an advocate of big data and analytics here in the Philippines.

Applying some finishing touches. :p

I am still learning though. Slowly but surely.

Global Sales School

I was in Malaysia for a few weeks for IBM’s Global Sales School. It was a blast to meet my colleagues in the ASEAN region, most I became friends with. They are a great bunch and we still message each other even though our learning program is finished.

Global Sales School Stream Mates. Fantastic set of people.

I do hope we’ll have the chance to get together some day.

Investing in Myself

What a cheesy sub-topic.

I am learning how to take care of my skin. Hahaha! I now buy a gentler facial wash and added a moisturizer to my morning regimen. I frequent the dermatologist as well.

I also started wearing braces this year. I have been visiting my dentist, Doc Papa, almost every week since October. I enjoy my visits to the dentist and it makes me wonder why I didn’t visit my dentist frequently before.

I returned to Eclipse Gym too. After a year of aimless workouts in Gold’s, I came back to where I started. This time, I asked Coach Mark for help. He has been an excellent mentor. He is very patient when it comes to training and tries to keep things simple for me. And it’s not just about the strength part. He gave ideas regarding my dietary dilemma and they have been working so far. I really look forward to my workouts and I try my best not to miss them.

Getting stronger. Not much compared to others but still, I’m happy. 🙂

Finally, I enrolled in Ateneo’s Indonesian language course. I am really interested in anything Indonesian and being able to speak the language is one my goals in life.

So that’s pretty much the gist of my 2014. I really need to write more!

Hoping 2015 will be even better. 🙂
