I love afternoon tea. It’s one of those dainty activities that I love treating myself to.

Yesterday, I had an impromptu lunch date with my cousins and my mom. It was one of those moments wherein I suddenly dialed a number for no reason at all.

We agreed to meet up at Greenbelt 5. Picking a restaurant to have lunch in is always a difficult task. I initially wanted to eat at Flavors in Holiday Inn but it was full. We ended up having a hearty meal at Krazy Garlik.

After having a somewhat sinful (oily) lunch, I asked them if they wanted to have tea to cleanse our palate. The choice for afternoon tea in Greenbelt 5 is very obvious: TWG.

We were graciously welcomed by the staff of TWG. Mark was the person who assisted us and he was excellent. I honestly don’t find TWG’s ambiance relaxing, but I like it. I find it conducive for a catch up type of conversation.

I ordered TWG’s Double Happiness tea (595 PHP) because I wanted my cousins and my mom to try it. It’s such a wonderful tea. The taste is very light and the aroma is like stress-relief in a pot.

My mom loved the tea; she expressed how much she liked it over and over again. The great thing about the Double Happiness tea is that it can be refilled with hot water.ย  My cousins liked it as well.

We paired our tea with desserts. I ordered the Normandy Apple Tart (220 PHP). It’s a flaky pastry filled with stewed apples then topped with TWG’s Vanilla Bourbon ice cream.

It was okay at best. I loved the ice cream more than the pastry, to be honest. The good thing about the tart is that it’s not too sweet.

My cousin ordered the Chocolate Fondant (295 PHP). It’s basically a chocolate cake topped with TWG’s Vanilla Bourbon ice cream.

He said it was good, but he too liked the ice cream more.

My mom had Creme Brulee (220 PHP).

I have tried this before and it’s quite nice. My mom enjoyed it as well though she pretty much enjoys anything sweet. ๐Ÿ™‚

Obviously, I’ll be coming back to TWG. Having snacks or tea there is a treat I always enjoy. It was my first time to dine in their Greenbelt branch and I am glad I did.
